Hi! I am Boris. The owner and the mastering engineer here at High Five Mastering. I have originally started High Five Mastering back in London, UK, in 2014. I have lived, studied and worked in London for nine years, during which time I was able to start my own studio and focus fully on mastering.
During my time in London, I was fortunate enough to be involved with the cream of the British music scene. I became regular on sessions across London’s best studios such as Abbey Road, Metropolis, Air-Edel, RAK, Miloco, etc. When I’ve decided to go “solo”, I knew that I could not or didn’t want to compromise on the quality, and that I needed something to set me apart from the competition. And since big studios are non affordable for smaller artists, I have decided to invest in top-notch, but only a must-have equipment, with which I could service any standard mastering needs. This would allow me to offer my services to unsigned artists for marginally smaller price, while offering top-of the line quality. I might not have ten compressors and twenty equalizers, but I have amazing all around equipment, that allows me to do a great job on any master.
After years of tireless work, my family situation brought me to the capital of Slovakia – Bratislava. Which is where I have decided to continue the adventure I have started back in London, and offer my services to the local artists. I obviously also continue to work online, so that I can keep working with artists and companies from around the world. You can read more about me in the mastering engineer section, but I feel obliged to share with you at least some of my work credits on this page.
I was blessed to work with some of the best producers in the world such as Phil Ramone (14 Grammy‘s, and he was nominated for 34!). Youth (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, U2, Depeche Mode, INXS, Guns ‘n Roses…). Jon Kelly (Freddie Mercury, Carpenters, Kate Bush, Melody Gardot…). CASH (Bloody Beetroots, Blake, The Osmonds, Born Blonde, Cash+David…). I also have wide scope of clients from a lot of different genres. Rock, Hip-Hop, Dance, Metal, A capella, Classical-crossover, R’n B, Dance, Classical music, Country, Electronica or even Flamenco! Here are some of my most notable clients: Groove Armada, Mr.Scruff, Paul Oakenfold, Dionne Warwick, Wideboys, Mark Clive de Lowe, Cash+David, Jenny Lindfors, Fjokra, Kamaliya, Erwin Khachikian (Serj Tankian), etc…
In 2013, I have mastered the music for Warchild’s animated film celebrating their 20th anniversary, which was awarded by special recognition British Award.
I offer many different services to my clients and I have very personal approach to all the projects. All my clients are equaly important and I consider all my projects of an utmost importance.
